Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Police Director General OSCAR DAVID ALBAYALDE and PCSUPT DEBOLD M SINAS, Regional Director of Police Regional Office (PRO) 7, together with other Regional Directors, headed Tuesday, November 6, the opening of the 2nd National SWAT Challenge at Team Davao Shooting Range in Maa, Davao City, which is participated by different units of the PNP and AFP counterparts across the country.
The National Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Challenge is a competition from November 6 to 10, 2018. The tactical competition is aimed to determine the response capability of the elite units in addressing general threats that require tactical police intervention as well as to test the stamina, speed, strength, skill and spirit of the SWAT members. The activity also is aimed to enhance the effectiveness, efficiency and the tactical proficiency of the SWAT units.
The highly-trained elite tactical units of the PNP, Army and Navy underwent rigorous trainings in preparation for the said competition. The 12-stage challenge includes Pistol/Rifle Marksmanship, Close Quarter Battle, Sniping Challenge and Physical Agility/Obstacle Course of participants.
The PNP stressed on the competition’s significance in the current situation when the nation is being challenged by terrorism and organized crime. It is also timely when the PNP is undertaking anti-terrorism and insurgency drills to test the interoperability of the government law enforcement agencies. Good luck to Team PRO7 SWAT!
